Our Team's Perfect Saturday in LA

Hollywood Sign Los Angeles Saturday Itinerary

What’s the perfect way to spend your day off? We asked our Space Camp team members what the perfect Saturday in Los Angeles looks like to them, let us know in the comments if there’s anything amazing we missed!

Solange

“I would sleep in as long as humanly possibly, which isn’t late these days, and walk down the street to Clark Street Diner for breakfast. I love that they have a counter for solo diners. I would take a coffee to-go for my walk back and take the long way home through Beachwood Canyon. When I got home I would shower, then head to the Downtown Flower Market. After wondering aimlessly and choosing my favorite flowers, I would head home to make my flower arrangements. Then I would check EstateSales.Net to see if there were any estate sales in the area worth scoping out. Then I would pick up lunch at Luv2Eat Thai and head to my uncle’s pool to lay out and read until the late afternoon. After heading home and getting ready, I would meet up with friends at Capri Club. We would have a killer meal and drinks and finish off the night with vegan ice cream from Van Leeuwen.”

“I’d start with an early morning hike at Griffith Park to avoid the crowds. I’d take the East or West trail up to the Observatory then keep going up to the top on Mt. Hollywood about 5 1/2 miles up and back. Then on to brunch at Joan’s on Third for great people watching and the occasional celebrity sighting. I’m a classic ‘goes to the movies by herself human’ so I’d catch an afternoon flick at The Century City Mall. Afterwards, I’d stroll around the mall, window shop and people watch. There’s a good chance that there’s a movie event or brand installation happening too. Lastly, I’ll grab dinner with friends on the West Side at Laurel Grill. It’s a beautiful new restaurant in the heart of Culver City with cozy vibes and upscale, classic American fare.”

“My two year old Finn and I sleep in until 7 am and then we make coffee and snuggle on the couch while he watches Winnie the Pooh and I do my daily Sudoku. After David (my husband) is up and the dogs are fed and walked, we head out to Milo and Olive for breakfast. I love their French omelette and Finn can easily eat an order of bacon on his own. After breakfast, we head to our favorite playground in the city, Aidan’s Place in Westwood. It has some of the coolest playground equipment I’ve ever seen, like giant rocking boats, mini vehicles the kids can drive, and a zip line. On the way home, we stop by Jurassic Magic for another coffee and Finn falls asleep in the car. We transfer him to his crib at home and David and I watch Industry while I work on my latest cross stitch project. After Finn’s nap, we go for a family walk at Kenneth Hahn Park (dogs included!) Then we’re back home to change and we’re off to dinner with friends at Donna’s, where we eat tons of homemade garlic bread and share a bottle of natural wine (milk for the baby, obvi).”

“On a Saturday morning, well any morning really, I particularly enjoy a slow one where I’m sipping coffee in my backyard and journaling. I also have a newfound love for iced coffee. I know, I know, I’m late to the game. But oh man, after trying Alfred Coffee’s Famous Vanilla Latte, it’s as if I was mesmerized. Now, I may or may not have already bought my own vanilla and caramel syrups, along with cute decanters for them. I really dive in when I have a new passion, what can I say? All in all, I am very excited for this new chapter!

After we hang with our pups, Rocky and Louie for awhile, we head out to Another Broken Egg Cafe in Burbank. They make a mean hollandaise for their Eggs Benedict and I remember why I love their breakfast every time I’m there. Once we’re back home, in between laundry loads, tossing Louie his ball, and telling Rocky how beautiful he is, I continue working on a paint-by-numbers canvas I recently started. I’ve really been trying to do more fun, relaxing hobbies at home, and this is one of them. For dinner we stay in, but still eat the most delicious food. And this is because I am so lucky to have a husband that cooks as good as I organize LOL! No, but really. Chris is THE best cook! He grills some veggies and carne asada we got at our new favorite place to get meat La Carniceria. We eat tacos, drink Micheladas and watch a movie.”

“My perfect Saturday would start without an alarm clock, soaking in the extra sleep in my cozy bed. I would enjoy a slow morning at home with my husband, cooking breakfast and sipping my favorite Purity coffee. Then it’s off to hot yoga at my favorite studio Sweat Yoga. After returning home, we would lay out by the pool, eat some lunch and soak in the sun. Then we would shower and get ready to head out. For dinner, we would stop at Erewhon and grab food from the hot bar plus snacks and drinks. Taking our food to-go, we’d head off to watch a movie at Paramount Drive-in Theatres. After making a cozy set up in the back of my husband’s SUV, we’d eat our car-picnic-style-dinner and enjoy the show.”

Megan

“I’m up for coffee at home by about 8 a.m. and a workout class taught by my sister @lala.fit.club. A quick shower and I’m ready to really start my day. Hopefully I’ve made plans with some eastside friends or convinced some westside friends to come hang out. Perhaps a brunch at Bub and Grandma’s in Eagle Rock where I’m getting the Green Eggs Cheese breakfast sandwich and I’m hopefully in time for a coveted donut! Lately I’ve been noticing I really need to refresh and zhuzh up my balcony, so this ideal day would include a trip to the nursery. Perhaps I pop into Potted to see what they’ve got or head to Sunset Nursery. Then because I shouldn’t stalk Solange at Capri Club maybe I'll get in line at Hermon's before they open. They take reservations two weeks out, but it's also fun to play the lotto since you can always enjoy a gorgeous little martini in the foyer as you wait for a table. Whenever we head home, I'll get cozy and maybe just rewatch the best and happiest show, Heated Rivalry -- reheat, if you will!

On an ideal Saturday, I’ll sleep in, have an americano at home, and then go on a run. I’ve been slowly working my way through the Office Ladies podcast, so I’ll usually listen to music and then an episode of that. After that, my girlfriend and I will go shopping somewhere like A Good Used Book or Redeemer Vintage. Then we’ll go see a movie at the Los Feliz 3. For dinner we’ll get Bulan Thai and then ice cream at Salt & Straw. When we get home, we put our couch in “bed mode” and watch The Pitt or Traitors.
